Giving

Why Give?

The programs and mission work you see on this website come with a cost.

Countless folks at Forest Hill donate their time and talents to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and welcome the stranger. Many others donate a portion of their income to finance the work of our congregation and other organizations fighting injustice and spreading Christ’s message.

The practice of tithing, or setting aside, a percentage of household income to support the work of the church not only benefits Forest Hill but enriches us as we practice the spiritual discipline of giving.

Our annual operating budget comes from the gifts of members and friends, mainly through a yearly pledge campaign. These gifts form the backbone of our ministry in the world. If you wish to make a pledge of support, you can pick up a pledge card from the church or simply fill in the amount you wish to pledge in the comment section of our Contact form.

Ways to Give:

Cash: You can give cash during Sunday worship services or drop it off at our offices during normal business hours.

Checks or Money Orders made payable to “Forest Hill Church, Presbyterian” can be:

* placed in the offering plate during Sunday worship
* dropped off at our offices
* mailed to:

Forest Hill Church
3031 Monticello Blvd.
Cleveland Heights, OH 44118

Because we have so many active funds, it is perfectly fine to write one check for several purposes. Just be sure to write in the memo line how much money should be allocated to each fund. The same holds true when writing checks on-line; be sure to add a description such as Base Pledge, Building Campaign, or Flowers. That way your gifts will get posted to the correct accounts without delay.

Electronic payments: Those who prefer may add “Forest Hill Church” as one of their regular online payees and make online payments through their financial institution.

Gifts of Stock: To donate stock to Forest Hill Church, please contact our Financial Administrator Becky Austin by email or phone 216.321.2660.

The Forest Hill Church Endowment Fund: A small but significant portion of our funding comes from the Forest Hill Church Endowment Fund. Bequests and memorial gifts to this fund are invested and a percentage of the annual income is gifted to the church to pay for expenses outside the annual budget.

2010-2013 Restoring the Building - Reclaiming the Mission:

Our facilities are an important part of our mission, providing space not just for worship, but for Scout meetings, daycare, after school learning, town-hall meetings on social justice issues, NOAH involvement, musical events and much more. Thanks to our spacious structure we are able to  house homeless families through the Interfaith Hospitality Network.

Just as we care for our own homes, we need to care for our building. Walls and roofs need to be repaired, gutters, downspouts and windows need to be replaced, drainage needs to be improved and much more.

An online brochure contains more information about our building renovation program. An online Restoring the Building pledge card is also available.

To participate in restoring our building, you may print a copy of this pledge card and return it, completed, to the church. Or simply go to our Comment Form and supply the same information.

Your annual giving allows us to be the face and hands and feet of Christ to one another, our neighborhood and throughout the world. Every pledge and gift matters. In return, we pledge to be good stewards of your gifts, carefully managing and tracking the resources entrusted to us. Thank you.
