Today’s kids aren’t always so sure.

Most kids know that the Church has done some great things in the world - especially when it comes to proclaiming Jesus Christ as the embodiment of God’s radical love and revolutionary engagement with the world.

But they also know that the Church has done some less than great things - and used guilt, shame and fear to make people follow a less-than-holy agenda.

That’s why our Confirmation classes at for 8th graders & up are designed to bridge the gap between parental pressure to join the church and normal youthful rebellion against parental authority.

Kids are paired with a Covenant Partner - a spiritually mature member of the congregation. Together the kids and their partners meet in a climate of trust and nurture (and fun!) to explore questions and doubts about Christianity.

Classes start in January and run for about 16 weeks. This is a time for the church to openly provide answers and guidance and affirm each confirmand’s faith journey.

Note to Kids - Confirmation classes give you a chance to:

- make the church a place where you can belong,
- explore biblical truths,
- fashion your own faith statement, and
- figure out what it means to be a member of a church community.

This is YOUR time to ask questions, to challenge yourselves and your faith, and find out whether YOU want to join Forest Hill Church.
