The Presbyterian church is a representative democracy governed by Elders elected from and by the congregation.  The church structure consists of the Session (each church's governing body), the Presbytery (supports local churches), the Synod (supports a region of Presbyteries), and the General Assembly (the national church office).

Forest Hill Church's Session is made up of Elders (who are responsible for the entire church program and mission), Deacons (who conduct the pastoral care ministry of the church), and the Trustees (who manage the financial, legal, and property issues.)  The Session at Forest Hill consists of seven boards: Christian Education, Church Growth, Faith in Action, Deacons, Stewardship, Trustees, and Worship.  The members of these boards plan and manage the education, mission, care and nurturing, financial concerns, and worship of the congregation of Forest Hill Church.
