Urban Farm Tour ~ Thursday, July 18, 2:00 - 4:00pm

The Reconnecting with God’s Creation in the 21st Century class discovered an urban farm, Rid-All Green Partnerships, doing exceptional things for the environment and its inner city Cleveland neighborhood: growing healthy produce, creating soil, raising tilapia, teaching and employing youth as gardeners. Meet at church at 1:15 on Thurs. July 18 to carpool and tour the farm at 8129 Otter Rd. in Kinsman from 2 – 4pm. Contact Kemp Jaycox  or Grace Uhle for more info.

Labre Picnic Ministry Opportunities ~ Sunday, July 21

Opportunities to help prepare or serve food at our 7th annual Labre picnic are here! In partnership with St. Joseph’s Church in Strongsville,  we’ll picnic with guests Sunday afternoon July 21 at Our Family Home Center in East Cleveland. If you would like to help, please contact Jack Breisch. Come and meet our ministry partners from St. Joe’s!

Group to Picnic by the Lake/ Attend Mamma Mia ~ Sun, July 28 after 2 pm

The Group invites all who are interested to attend the annual outing to the Hanna-Stauffer cottage in Madison, Ohio, Come anytime after 2:00pm on Sun. July 28 and enjoy views of the lake. Bring a potluck dish to share; dinner will be about 5 pm. Then we’ll go to Rabbit Run Theater to see Mamma Mia; curtain time 7:30. RSVP to Kathy by July 7 (firm deadline).

Family Camp at Punderson ~ August 9-11

Several individuals, couples, and families with children from infants to youth are planning an all-church Camping Trip to Punderson State Park the weekend of Aug. 9-11. 45 minutes east of church, Punderson still has plenty of campsites available that weekend. Building for our Future, HOLA Ohio’s annual fundraiser, will be Sat. Aug. 10, 6 – 9pm at the Family Life Center, in Chagrin Falls. Job Posting ~ Interim Youth Leader

We are searching for an Interim Youth Leader to work with our Family, Youth and Children’s (FY&C) Ministry leading our Youth programs. This interim position will report to the FY&C Coordinator and the Co-Pastors, and ultimately to Session through its Personnel Committee. This is a one-year position from August 2019 to July 2020. Exploring Membership? ~ Classes Sept. 22 & 29

If you’re interested in becoming part of our church community, our next Exploring Membership Classes will be offered Sundays, Sept. 22 & 29 in Bodwell Hall from 12:30-2:00 pm. Light lunch provided, childcare available upon request. Those who choose to join will do so on October 6. To attend, email Diana Woodbridge or the church office.

Attention knitters and crocheters!

If you enjoy knitting, crocheting, or even fleece-tying baby blankets,  consider donating to the Deacons’ ministry that gives each infant born in our congregation a lovingly-made blanket as a welcome to our church family. Email Deacon Chris Bell to learn how to knit or for some of our donated yarn. If you have blankets to donate,  leave them in our Volunteer Office. And thank you for helping us wrap those little ones in colorful warmth!

Lay Readers

Each Sunday a different lay person leads the Call to Worship and reads the scripture lessons. If you’ve wondered whether you can be a Lay Reader, contact Linda Martin to let her know of your interest. Whether you’ve been a Lay Reader and wish to continue or want to try it for the first time, she can answer your questions and go over the readings with you until you feel comfortable reading in front of the congregation.
