During the COVID pandemic, the Family, Youth & Children’s Ministry has suspended most in-person ministry. However, we remain committed to connecting with our families during this difficult time. Throughout the year, we deliver “at-home” bags to families to help them nurture faith at home. Youth have Zoom gatherings on Sundays (following live-steam worship) for games, discussion, and fellowship. As the weather improves, we will meet for outdoor activities.
When it is safe to meet indoors again, we will resume our youth ministry program for grades 6–12. This will include youth education on Sunday mornings, house church once a month on a Sunday evening, opportunities for service and mission, as well as social activities.
We also anticipate that In Fall 2021, we will offer an Exploring Membership class for youth who are 13 years and older. Youth will examine their personal faith and the faith of the church through reading, discussion, field trips, service projects and relationships with peers and adult mentors. At the conclusion of this 6-month class, youth may choose to be confirmed as members, by affirming their faith and declaring their intent to take an active part in the life and mission of Forest Hill Church.
Joyful proclamations of “Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!” called us to worship on Easter Sunday. Thank you to the Hall/Fay, Offutt Decker, Webster, and Miller families, along with Emma Haas, Antoinette Richardson, Emmanuel Sabo and Doris Allen for helping us experience the good news of Easter. To see the entire Call to […]
Families of children and youth received an Easter gift, delivered to their homes, from the Family, Youth and Children’s Ministry. The butterfly-themed gift bags contained reminders of new life, including milkweed seeds to plant (they attract butterflies!) eggs with Easter messages, coloring sheets and of course, chocolate!
Twenty seven parents, children and youth gathered in our outdoor courtyard on the first day of spring, Sunday, March 21st. Families were joined by members of the Family, Youth and Children (FYC) ministry, and the pastors, musicians and A/V team stopped by to say “hi” on their way to worship. Adults re-connected in conversation, teens […]
