Youth Education & Ministry
Know God’s Story.
Share Our Stories.
Have A Blast.
Our Youth Group takes faith and fun seriously. In addition to a dynamic Sunday School program, book groups, small groups, retreats, mission trips, and fellowship, they’re involved in service to the church family, local outreach and mission, and take part in Sunday worship through Sine Nomine (Youth) Choir, reading Scripture, greeting, and more. Forest Hill Church youth form meaningful relationships with mentors and peers, all while having a blast and being affirmed as beloved children of God.
Mid-High Youth Fellowship
Our 6th-8th graders focus on building relationships through discussion-based Sunday School, fun activities, volunteer projects, prayer, and exploring our role in Christ’s community.
In addition to partnering with the Senior High youth group, we have several Mid-High-Only events such as:
- Friday night Lock-Ins
- Weekend trips in and around Cleveland Heights
- Movie Nights
- Book Group
During the summer, the Mid-Highs take a short trip together where they explore what it means to be part of a faith community.
Senior-High Youth Fellowship
Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30am: Senior High Youth (grades 9-12) meet to dive deep into the Biblical story and current social issues through discussion, study, and fellowship.
Fun Outings: The group loves to gather over dinner at a favorite restaurant, for games and movies, to go out to fun places like the trampoline-filled Sky-Zone or the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Chalk Fest.
Overnights & Retreats: Both at Forest Hill Church and outside of the Cleveland area
Mission Projects: The Senior High group is encouraged to serve others at Forest Hill, in their own daily lives, and through mission projects and learning trips throughout the Cleveland Area.
Summer Mission Trips
Each summer, the Senior High youth (including rising 9th graders) travel together for a week of mission. In 2016 they traveled to Washington D.C. Past trips have included Harlan, KY; Leon, Nicaragua; the Presbyterian Triennium in Indiana; Cherokee, North Carolina; and Juarez, Mexico.
8th graders & up are encouraged to attend our confirmation class. Confirmation is offered on Sunday mornings from January to May during the education hour before worship and provides a comprehensive overview of our faith, along with tons of opportunities to grow even closer to adult mentors and youth friends.
FHC Youth Permission Form: REQUIRED for all off-site youth activities.
