Does a bystander have a legal duty to intervene on a victim’s behalf? Amos Guiora believes the obligation to intervene should be a legal requirement and non-intervention a crime. Learn why on Thurs Apr 27 @ 7pm at B’nai Jeshurun Congregation, 27501 Fairmount Blvd in Pepper Pike.
Guiora addresses the bystander-victim relationship from a personal and legal perspective, focusing on the Holocaust as well as cases in contemporary society. He shares the experiences of his parents and grandparents during the Holocaust and examines sexual assault cases at Vanderbilt and Stanford and other crimes where bystanders chose not to intervene. Co-sponsored by Forest Hill Church.
