Join us on Sun. May 26 @12:30pm to honor the first recipients of the Ron Register Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship was established to honor Elder Ron Register’s contributions to “the world as it should be,” for his compassion and selfless dedication to justice, racial equity, and inclusion, and for his steadfast commitment for over 16 years to quality public education for all.
The Ron Register Scholarship Fund Committee, consisting of both community and church members, was formed to raise additional monies, select award recipients and oversee the Fund. All monies are held by the Church and all disbursements are made by the Church. Generous church and community members have contributed an additional $20,000, an amount that will enable granting of up to two $2500 scholarships each year for at least the next 5 years to deserving students of our CH-UH Public Schools, helping to make their dream of a college education a reality.
The Committee is reviewing applications to determine which best exemplifies Ron’s incredible commitment to justice, equity and excellence in education in our CH-UH Public Schools. We hope you can be present on May 26 to honor Ron and to hear from, applaud and celebrate the Fund’s first recipients!
Contact Doris Allen or Diana Woodbridge if you can:
1) help set up or serve food,
2) contribute cookies, desserts of any kind and/or plates of fruit, veggies, cheeses, other appetizers or small “tea” sandwiches.
